Come on in, we've been looking forward to having you join the team.
New Hire
Thanks, I'm a little nervous, but I'm mostly just excited to get started.
Manager
That's totally normal, everyone feels that way on their first day.
New Hire
Good to know, so where should I go to pick up my badge?
Manager
HR will sort that out for you right after this meeting.
New Hire
Perfect, and will someone show me around the office later?
Manager
Definitely, one of your teammates will give you a full tour this afternoon.
New Hire
Great, I'm hoping to meet everyone before the week is over.
Manager
You will, we've actually planned a small welcome lunch for you on Friday.
New Hire
Wow, that's really thoughtful, I wasn't expecting anything like that.
Manager
We like to make sure new hires feel comfortable right from the start.
New Hire
I appreciate that, it definitely takes some of the pressure off.
Manager
Just ask questions whenever you need to, nobody expects you to know everything yet.
New Hire
That's a relief, I'll definitely be asking plenty of questions this week.
