The Job Interview Campaign — Ep 2: Real English Job Interview Practice | English B1-B2

Conversation Script

Interviewer

Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult coworker.

Candidate

Oh boy, that's a big one, but I actually have a good example.

Interviewer

Go ahead, I'm curious to hear how you handled it.

Candidate

A teammate kept missing deadlines, and it was throwing off the whole project.

Interviewer

That sounds stressful, so what did you do about it?

Candidate

I pulled him aside privately instead of calling him out in the meeting.

Interviewer

Smart move, a lot of people would've just complained to the manager.

Candidate

Exactly, I wanted to understand what was actually going on first.

Interviewer

And what turned out to be the real issue behind it all?

Candidate

Turns out he was overwhelmed with tasks from another department entirely.

Interviewer

Wow, so it wasn't really about laziness or lack of effort.

Candidate

Not at all, once we split the workload, things got back on track.

Interviewer

That's a great answer because it shows real problem-solving under pressure.

Candidate

Thanks, I try to focus on solutions rather than pointing fingers.
