Client
Look, before we sign anything, I need you to reconsider the payment terms.
Sales Rep
Wait, I thought we already settled on thirty days net last week.
Client
We did, but our finance team is pushing for forty-five days instead.
Sales Rep
Hmm, that's a tight ask, but I might be able to swing it.
Client
Seriously? I figured you'd push back a lot harder than that.
Sales Rep
Honestly, keeping you as a long-term client matters more than a few extra weeks.
Client
I appreciate that, and it actually makes me more confident about signing today.
Sales Rep
Great, so if we adjust the payment clause, are we good to move forward?
Client
Almost. There's just one more sticking point about the cancellation policy.
Sales Rep
Oh no, what's the issue there? I thought that section was pretty standard.
Client
It is, but we'd like a shorter notice period in case priorities shift suddenly.
Sales Rep
That's reasonable, and I can shorten it without running it up the chain.
Client
Perfect, in that case, let's get this contract finalized before the day's over.
Sales Rep
Deal. I'll send the updated draft over so we can both sign within the hour.
